Police find burglar through dog

CENTRALIA, Wash., July 11 (UPI) -- Police in Centralia, Wash., say they apprehended a burglary suspect after his dog was found at the scene of the crime.

While investigating a string of burglaries that took place in the city Sunday, police found a pit bull left behind at one crime scene, Seattle's KOMO-TV reported. One of the investigating officers recognized the dog as belonging to a 19-year-old man.

Police officers went to the man's home, and allegedly saw some of the stolen items. They later returned with a search warrant and found more items that were reported stolen.

The man was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on residential burglary charges.
