JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., June 27 (UPI) -- Officials in a Missouri county said they are celebrating the opening of a new jail with a "Bed, Breakfast and Bars" promotion open to the public.

The Cole County Commission and Sheriff's Office said the event, which will be held July 15 or 16, will allow participants to spend the night in a cell with dinner, breakfast and facility tours included for the price of $30 per person, the Jefferson City (Mo.) News Tribune reported Monday.

The event, open to those 17 years of age and older, will follow a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new facility at 10 a.m. July 15. Proceeds from the "Bed, Breakfast and Bars" event will be split between the sheriff's office and the Cole County Pacesetter program for the United Way of Central Missouri.
