BEERWAH, Australia, June 25 (UPI) -- Family members of the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin were charged by a mother Southern White Rhino while showing off a new calf off reporters.

Terri Irwin, owner of the Australia Zoo in Beerwah, said she was showing off the baby rhino, Savannah, with her children, Bindi, 12, and Robert, 7, when the mother rhino, Cabelle, charged the family, the Brisbane Courier-Mail reported Friday.

Irwin quickly grabbed Robert and took him out of the animal's path.

"You were on your own," the mother joked to Bindi after the incident.

Robert Irwin praised Cabelle for being a "very good mother" and protecting her baby.

The rhinos are set to feature in the zoo's Africa Safari Park, which is scheduled to open to the public in September.
