GRAND FORKS, N.D., June 18 (UPI) -- Police in North Dakota said they arrested a man accused of breaking into an apartment occupied by women and stealing items including three pairs of underwear.
Grand Forks police said they responded to a report of a possible burglary shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday and found a window at the apartment, where five women live, had been broken and someone inside, the Grand Forks Herald reported Friday.
Officers said Dustin Darby, 21, fled out another window and led them on a foot chase. They said they caught up to the suspect and recovered items including three pairs of women's underwear, photos of the residents, garter belts, two iPods and a BlackBerry.
Blake Hankey, Darby's lawyer, said his client is friends with the women and had been with them prior to the alleged incident.
Darby was charged with felony counts of burglary and property theft as well as a misdemeanor count of fleeing police. He was jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail.
