'Spirits' told woman to walk nude

GURNEE, Ill., May 27 (UPI) -- Police in a Chicago suburb said a woman found naked outside of their station told officers spirits told her to take her clothes off and walk to the building.

Investigators said three officers discovered the 52-year-old woman, whose name was not released, standing at the southwest corner of the Gurnee Police Station at about 7:30 a.m. Monday, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

Police said the woman told them she was "awakened by the spirits in her apartment" and they told her to strip naked and walk to the police station.

The woman was taken to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan and was voluntarily admitted for psychological evaluation.
