NEW YORK, May 27 (UPI) -- Riders of a New York commuter train said they were surprised when a man stripped down to black briefs and high-heel shoes for an on-train pole dance.

Witnesses said the man stripped down during a Thursday ride on the L train and treated his fellow strap-hangers to a pole dance show, WCBS-TV, New York, reported Friday.

"It was kind of nice to have some diversity, some original things going on. Entertainment, free entertainment," commuter Heixan Robles said.

However, not everyone was impressed with the display.

"He was barely wearing any clothes. Well, that is offensive," subway rider Prince Arrow said.
