LONDON, May 25 (UPI) -- British fashion brand Reiss said its Web site was crashed by consumers seeking the dress worn by Princess Catherine when she greeted the Obamas.
A spokesman for Reiss said "unprecedented traffic" caused the site to crash for about 2 1/2 hours Tuesday after photos emerged of Kate wearing the knee-length, camel-colored "Shola bandage" shift dress when she and Prince William greeted President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama at Buckingham Palace, The Daily Telegraph reported Wednesday.
''Due to unprecedented demand, Shola mania has crashed our Web site! We are endeavoring to bring the Reiss brand back to you ASAP," the company posted on its Twitter account.
The Web site was back up and running Tuesday afternoon.
