WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., May 12 (UPI) -- South Florida police have launched "Operation D Minus," featuring new police recruits going undercover as high school students.

Palm Beach County school police have announced about 30 arrests, The Palm Beach Post reported. Most of those arrested last week are students suspected of drug dealing.

One female officer told the newspaper she had to do homework and take the FCAT, the Florida achievement test.

"It was long, a really long test," she said.

She was invited to the prom but could not go. She was also not allowed to party with her classmates or hang out with them after school, and she had to be careful not to blow her cover while living the rest of her life.

She did get into trouble for wearing an overly short skirt to school.

When she was talking to schoolmates, she also had to be careful not to bring up drugs until they did. But usually someone would.

Police Chief Jim Kelly plans to hit more schools next year.
