DENVER, May 9 (UPI) -- Authorities in Colorado said a bank robber dubbed the "Ho-Hum Bandit" was arrested after he confessed his crimes to his estranged girlfriend.

Tom Acierno of the FBI's Safe Streets Task Force said Adam Lynch, 34, an Irish citizen living in Denver, met with his estranged girlfriend at a pub April 18 to discuss the future of their relationship and he told her about the 24 bank robberies he had perpetrated during the past two years in Denver and California, The Denver Post reported Monday.

"He showed her the FBI Web site on his mobile phone and she saw his picture and that he was wanted for bank robbery," Acierno said. "She tried to keep him calm and keep him there."

Acierno said the woman, Julia Lundstrom, called Denver police and Lynch was arrested at the bar.

Lynch, who was nicknamed the "Ho-Hum Bandit" for his bored demeanor during his crimes, is suspected of 10 robberies in Colorado, 12 in California, one in Wyoming and one in Washington state. He has pleaded not guilty to bank robbery.
