WATERLOO, Iowa, May 6 (UPI) -- An Iowa man who allegedly robbed a bank with a note demanding $80 has pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree robbery.

Waterloo police said Kurtis Culbert, 28, who was released from prison April 7 in connection with a forgery charge, entered the US Bank branch on Cedar Street April 11 and handed a teller a note demanding $80, the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reported Friday.

Culbert's face was photographed by a security camera at the Waterloo Public Library, where he was seen changing his clothes shortly after the incident, and he was arrested at a homeless shelter later in the day.

The suspect, who was taken to the Black Hawk County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond, pleaded not guilty Thursday to a charge of second-degree robbery.
