NEW YORK, May 6 (UPI) -- JetBlue, based in New York, said a canine frequent flier has been named the carrier's "Most-Traveled Four-Legged Jetsetter" and will receive a free vacation.

The airline said Moose, a 1-year-old Maltipoo, and owner Jamie Griebner are being awarded a JetBlue Getaways vacation package to Los Angeles, including a stay at the dog-friendly Hotel Palomar.

JetBlue said Moose has accompanied Griebner, an East Amherst, N.Y., native attending Suffolk University in Boston, on more than 20 flights between Boston and Buffalo, N.Y.

"It's nice, because Boston and Buffalo is only an hour trip on a direct flight, so over the summer I would usually be back in Buffalo for the weekends," Griebner said. "Now when school is busier I try to make it back to Buffalo around once a month."

JetBlue said Moose received the award as part of its National Pet Month celebrations.
