Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe CHICAGO, April 28 (UPI) -- An 81-year-old suburban Chicago woman who discovered a bundle of bills totaling $2,837 said it never occurred to her to keep the cash. Raymonde Brison of Sauk Village said she was having her blood pressure checked at a clinic on the South Side of Chicago April 18 when she discovered the bundle of cash along with a casino "player's card" bearing the name of the owner, Lester Franklin, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Thursday. Advertisement Franklin said the money must have fallen from his pocket when he picked his father up from the clinic that same day. He said he thought the money was gone for good when he was unable to find it during a return trip to the clinic, but he got a message the next morning on his home answering machine from police. The message said his money was at the police station and he was relieved to discover all of the bills were intact. He said he took a potted plant and a $500 reward to Brison. "It was beautiful, with a nice big white ribbon tied around it," Brison said of the plant. "And he gave me a real nice thank you note. I was so happy he got the money." Advertisement Brison said she will use the money to visit her terminally ill son in Texas.
