Man taped ironing on closed roadway

LONDON, April 19 (UPI) -- A man in a bathrobe was videotaped Monday morning ironing his clothing on Britain's closed M1 highway between London and Leeds.

The man ironed a white shirt on the roadway as transport officials announced the southbound lanes between Junctions 1 and 4 in north London may remain closed until the end of the week, The Sun reported.

The 7-mile section of the road has been closed since Friday due to damage from a fire in a scrapyard beneath an elevated section of the highway. Officials said they are working to install steel supports under a bridge in an effort to reopen at least one lane as soon as possible.
