Advertisement Paul Tranquilli and Daniel Oliveto, students at the New Brunswick school, said they started a Facebook campaign to bring Bruce Springsteen to the school in response to the recent visit by Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Monday. However, the Boss would receive far less than the $32,000 Snooki received for her speaking engagement. The Facebook page for "COLLEGE AVE FREEZE OUT: LET'S BRING THE BOSS TO RUTGERS!" states the organizers hope Springsteen believes Rutgers to be "worthy of a high profile appearance without the enticement of a monetary payment." The page lists "no spray tanning and juicing" as being among the singer's positive attributes. Advertisement "Springsteen embodies the honest, working individual," the page says. Deputies, firefighters rescue ducklings ORLANDO, Fla., April 12 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said a pair of sheriff's deputies with a pool net and firefighters with a hydraulic lift rescued nine ducklings from a drainage grate. The Orange County Sheriff's Office said Deputies Miguel Rosario and Armando Borrero responded to the Hair Cuttery on Landstar Boulevard in Orlando and found a mother duck standing over a drainage grate with the baby birds trapped below, WKMG-TV, Orlando, reported Monday. The deputies couldn't lift the grate so Orange County firefighters responded with a hydraulic lift to remove the heavy piece of metal. Borrero used a pool net from his home to fish the ducklings out, and he and Rosario reunited them with their mother. Police: T-shirt bore robber's picture CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 12 (UPI) -- Police in North Carolina said they arrested a robbery suspect who left a T-shirt bearing his picture behind at the scene of the crime. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said two men broke into a home March 29 while a man and a woman were home and stole a wallet and jewelry from the residence, The Charlotte Observer reported Monday. Advertisement The man struggled with the robbers as they fled the home and a T-shirt fell from their vehicle before they sped away. The man told investigators the man pictured on the T-shirt was one of the suspects. Police said Jonathan Huntley, 25, of Charlotte turned himself in to police two days later and was charged with felony counts of robbery and breaking and entering. Investigators said they were still searching for the second suspect. Police: Man tried to light hearing aid JENSEN, Fla., April 12 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said an allegedly intoxicated driver apparently mistook a hearing aid for a cigarette and tried to light it during a traffic stop. The Martin County Sheriff's Office said David Wagner, 53, of Jensen, was pulled over at about 8:50 p.m. April 5 and a deputy who detected the scent of alcohol noticed the man attempt to light the hearing aid while he was calling for another deputy to complete a driving under the influence investigation, TCPalm.com reported Monday. A breath test found Wagner's blood-alcohol content was well over the legal limit for driving in the state and the arrest affidavit said the motorist admitted to drinking "a half a bottle of Jagermeister" earlier in the evening.
