THONOTOSASSA, Fla., April 12 (UPI) -- A Florida artist focused on hand-drawn portraits said most of her commissioned work includes cremated remains brushed into the artwork.

Raven Collins, 37, of Thonotosassa said using cremated remains in artwork is not a new idea, but her Portraits From Ashes studio is the only one she knows about that uses the remains in sketch drawings, The Tampa (Fla.) Tribune reported Tuesday.

"I try to think outside the box," Collins said of her business, which she estimated is about 90 percent memorial portraits containing ashes.

Collins said the portraits cost $200 to $300 depending on the size of the artwork and whether color is used.
