CANTON, Mass., April 7 (UPI) -- U.S. company Dunkin' Donuts announced the creation of a royal wedding-themed doughnut, and sister brand Baskin-Robbins is introducing an ice-cream cake.

The Canton, Mass., Dunkin' Brands said the Royal Wedding Donut, which will go on sale one week before the April 29 wedding of Britain's Prince William and fiancee Kate Middleton, is a heart-shaped, jelly-filled pastry with vanilla icing and chocolate drizzle, WHDH-TV, Boston, reported Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the company said Baskin-Robbins is introducing a commemorative Royal Wedding Ice Cream Cake with an English garden-inspired design featuring white and blue roses.

"The royal wedding has turned into a really significant event as it has for, I think, a lot of folks around the world," said Stan Frankenthaler, executive chef for Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins.
