SAN ANTONIO, March 25 (UPI) -- A Texas jury reinstated Miss San Antonio 2011 Domonique Ramirez after determining the pageant organization breached her contract by firing her.
Ramirez, 17, was reinstated in District Judge Barbara Hanson Nellermoe's courtroom Thursday after the lawsuit jury unanimously decided Miss Bexar County Organization officials breached her contract when she was fired in February, the San Antonio Express-News reported Friday.
Pageant officials had claimed Ramirez was routinely late to appearances, failed to maintain her weight and measurements, and commonly displayed a combative attitude.
Ramirez contended she was occasionally late because the organization failed to provide her with a driver as promised by officials. She said she was fired because of a personality clash with new leaders of the organization.
The beauty queen told KENS-TV, San Antonio, she is ready to go back to work.
"I'm not the type of person who cannot put feelings aside," she said. "Things that were said aside, that shouldn't be an issue now. I mean, we should be able to move forward. We're not going to stay in the past. It's about moving forward and trying to be a success for both parties."
