JERSEY CITY, N.J., March 24 (UPI) -- Federal investigators said a Pennsylvania woman used the Web site hitmanforhire.com to attempt to have her ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend killed.

Marissa Mark, 28, formerly of Allentown, Pa., was arrested Tuesday in Jersey City, N.J., on allegations she used the Web site to make a $19,000 down payment to a hit man to kill a woman identified only as A.L.R. of California, the Philadelphia Daily News reported Wednesday.

The FBI said Mark hired the Web site's creator, a Las Vegas casino dealer named Essam Ahmed Eid, to shoot the woman in the head in September 2006.

However, investigators said Eid confronted A.L.R. and told her he could not kill her because she looked like his daughter. He allegedly offered to kill Mark on her behalf, the newspaper reported.

A.L.R. contacted authorities and Mark was arrested, the report said. Investigators said Eid is believed to have fled to Ireland.
