ATLANTA, March 23 (UPI) -- The Federal Aviation Administration said a coyote spotted roaming around an Atlanta airport briefly delayed flights from the location.
FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the coyote was spotted on the south side of the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and flights were delayed for a few minutes while employees worked to chase away the animal, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday.
Bergen said "an airport vehicle chased (the coyote) into a ravine" and flights resumed.
The spokeswoman said it is not uncommon for animals to delay flights.
"They've even had alligators turn up at some Florida airports," Bergen said.
