Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles and sidekick "Comedy" Dave Vitty reached the record-breaking 50-hour mark at 8:30 a.m. Friday and continued their show for an additional 2 hours, raising the money for Comic Relief, a charity aimed at helping impoverished people around the world, The Daily Telegraph reported.
Moyles was presented on-air with a Guinness World Record certificate, The Telegraph said.
The two broadcasters, who were allowed 5-minute breaks each hour, were joined at various times by celebrity guests, including Katy Perry, Lily Allen Jack Whitehall and Chipmunk.
Moyles said Radio 1's Web site briefly crashed when fellow DJ Fearne Cotton pledged to strip down to her bathing suit if a fundraising goal was met.
"The end result of this silly, silly show was Fearne Cotton in a swimsuit. Oh, and Comic Relief got some money," Moyles said.
The DJ said in signing off at about 10:30 a.m. he was "going to sleep for two whole weeks."
