Cops: Drunk employee broke in for snack

ST. CLOUD, Minn., Feb. 25 (UPI) -- A drunken Pizza Hut employee was caught in the restaurant after hours Friday deep-frying himself some boneless wings, police in St. Cloud, Minn., said.

The 21-year-old, a criminal justice major at St. Cloud State University, faces a burglary charge, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.

Officers went to the restaurant after an alarm went off at about 1:25 a.m. They found the back door open, the young man inside and marinara sauce on the wall, apparently thrown there by the suspect.

"He had access to the building, but he just didn't reset the alarm," Lt. Jerry Edblad said.

The suspect's blood-alcohol level was tested at 0.22.

Edblad said the man might face a reduced charge such as theft because he was an employee of the restaurant.

A spokesman for the university said he is not enrolled in the current semester.
