John Iverson said he was pulling out the diamond engagement ring during his 9 p.m. Valentine's Day proposal when the wedding band, which belonged to his girlfriend's mother, also fell from his pocket and rolled through a grate into the city sewer system, KUSA-TV, Denver, reported Tuesday. The Denver Fire Department responded and helped the couple recover the ring after about 45 minutes of searching.
