CLEVELAND, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Cleveland is honoring the neighborhood where Superman was created with street signs bearing the superhero's "S" insignia.

The city installed the signs, which bear honorary street names, including "Joe Shuster Lane" and "Lois Lane," in the neighborhood where Shuster and Jerry Siegel created Superman 73 years ago, The (Cleveland Plain) Dealer reported Monday.

The signs were placed at the intersection of Amor Avenue and Parkwood Drive, where Shuster once lived, and at East 105th Street and Kimberley Avenue, where Siegel lived.

"Action Comics No. 1," the comic book featuring the initial appearance of Superman, was released in 1938 and now can sell for more than $1 million.
