FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- A serial robber of South Florida convenience stores who was nicknamed the "Saggy Pants Robber" has been sentenced to 26 years in prison.

Luke Singletary, 21, appeared in court Thursday, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.

Singletary admitted earlier this month he stuck up 12 convenience stores in the Fort Lauderdale area in 2009. His getaway driver, Terrence Williams, received a 15-year sentence after pleading guilty last year.

Investigators said Singletary and Williams mostly hit stores after midnight. Singletary typically wore a mask and got his nickname because of the drooping trousers shown on surveillance video.

They were arrested in April 2009 after detectives tailed them to a convenience store. Both men were shot and wounded during the arrest, with Singletary getting a bullet in the rear end.
