City miffed at porno filmed at monument

MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Officials in a Florida city said they are looking into whether the creators of a pornographic film broke laws by filming at a public monument.

Miami Beach Assistant City Manager Hilda Fernandez said city legal experts are reviewing the film, "Island Adventure," produced by RealityKings.com, to determine whether any laws were broken when the pornographic video was filmed outdoors at the 110-foot obelisk honoring Florida pioneer Henry Flagler on the city's Monument Island, The Miami Herald reported Friday.

"This is not an uninhabited island miles off the coast," Fernandez said. "It's in the middle of a very busy bay. You can't go filming pornos in public parks."

However, Lawrence Walters, an attorney for RealityKings.com, said no laws were violated in the creation of "Island Adventure." He said state laws against exposing oneself in public were not violated by the production because there were no witnesses to the filming other than the actors and crew. He described the producers as "good corporate citizens" who donate funds to charity.
