FLETCHER, N.C., Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Police in North Carolina said it took about 30 law enforcement officers from five agencies to break up a series of fights at a church after services ended.

Capt. Jerry Rice, public information officer for the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, said officers from five agencies in Henderson and Buncombe counties descended on the Greater New Zion Baptist Church in Fletcher shortly after noon Sunday after a fight was reported, The Times-News, Hendersonville, N.C., reported Monday.

Rice said the officers broke up a number of fights in the church, which contained about 75 people, and investigators had yet to determine who started the initial confrontation. No arrests were made and no serious injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation, Rice said.
