Homeless man protests restaurant

NAPERVILLE, Ill., Jan. 31 (UPI) -- A man who has lived on the streets of an Illinois city for nine years said he moved next to a soon-to-open restaurant to protest the servers' apparel.

Scott Huber, 59, who said he started living on the Naperville streets more than nine years ago to protest local government injustices he blames for the loss of his home and business, said he has been camping outside of the soon-to-open Show Me's restaurant because it employs scantily clad female servers, The (Arlington Heights, Ill.) Daily Herald reported Monday.

Joel Hun, vice president of the restaurant, said workers have been complaining about Huber camping out close to the employee parking lot.

"Their girls are scared of me?" Huber said. "Well I'm scared of their girls and their butts hanging out of their shorts."

Naperville officials said they are considering expanding a ban on camping in downtown public ways across the entire city to end Huber's long years on the municipality's streets. The original ban was put in place to prevent Huber from camping near the Central Parking Facility on Chicago Avenue. However, some officials said expanding the ban could face constitutional challenges and the city is investigating other potential options.
