JEANNETTE, Pa., Jan. 28 (UPI) -- A Pennsylvania man prosecuted for illegally keeping four pet goats, which he named after city officials, said he has moved the animals to a farm.

Frank Trigona said he bought the goats to graze on the weeds and high grass at his Jeannette home last summer, and the City Council passed an ordinance soon after banning goats and other barnyard animals from the town, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Thursday.

Trigona said he attempted to fight the eviction of his animals, but he decided the time had come to move the goats last week when he was hit with $935 in fines and court costs from a guilty verdict for illegally keeping the animals.

"I felt bad when I got rid of them," Trigona said. "I sent them to a farm with 22 other goats. The lady said to me, 'Frank, I promise I won't kill them. I'll keep them.'"
