An African lion rests in his habitat at the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Conservation Center in Keenesburg, Colorado August 20, 2006. This lion may have already found a new home as the sanctuary must close its doors September 1, 2006 due to lack of funds. The facility house over 150 large wild animals including seventy-five tigers. TUCSON, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- An Arizona restaurant said it is accepting pre-orders for tacos made with the meat from African lions.

Tucson's Boca Tacos y Tequila, which previously made headlines with tacos made from kangaroo, alligator, python, rattlesnake, elk and Rocky Mountain oysters, said orders must be placed by 3 p.m. Feb. 7 for the Feb. 16 African lion meal, Tucson's Arizona Daily Star reported Thursday.

"We've done just about anything we can get our hands on," owner Bryan Mazon said. "Every Wednesday we do something a little bit different.

"I've gotten a lot of questions, like if it's legal," Mazon said of the lion tacos. He said Food and Drug Administration regulations allow for the sale of lion and other game meat provided the species is not endangered.

The lion tacos cost $8.75 apiece, Mazon said.
