China Daily reported the couple, who met through an online game in May 2008 and married at the end of that year, were granted a divorce by the People's Court of Shunyi district in Beijing after they each accused the other of neglecting housework. Advertisement However, the court refused the woman's claim for a share of the virtual assets she earned alongside her former husband in the game using an ID registered in his name. The court said virtual assets can only be ruled by law if they are linked to a real monetary value or assets.
