LOS ANGELES, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Federal agents in Los Angeles said two Christmas reindeer decorations made from grass were seized from a man bringing them into the country from El Salvador.

Customs and Border Protection agents at Los Angeles International Airport said the deer were made from grass material containing seeds without necessary certification to enter the United States, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.

Authorities said the blades of grass also showed signs of disease that could post threats to native U.S. plants.
