LAUREL, Md., Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Authorities in Maryland said roads were closed for about two hours while crews cleaned up milk spilled from an overturned tractor trailer tanker.

Howard County Police said Jeffrey Bryson, 46, was driving the truck loaded with milk at a traffic circle at the intersection of Route 216 and Ice Crystal Drive in Laurel when it overturned while trying to turn, The Baltimore Sun reported Wednesday.

Portions of Route 26 were closed until 6:15 p.m. while road crews cleaned up the milk and trucks poured salt onto the affected surface.

Police said they are investigating the incident and preliminary findings indicate the truck overturned due to its speed.

Bryson, who was not injured, was driving the milk to the Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Facility in Laurel.
