Truck spills Jell-O, pudding onto road

CHARLES CITY, Iowa, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Authorities in Iowa said a semi-trailer truck veered off a county road and spilled 53 pallets of Jell-O and pudding cups into traffic.

The Floyd County Sheriff's Department said the semi left the road in the early hours Tuesday and the roof ripped open, spilling the snacks onto Rudd Park Road near the intersection with Highway 27, The (Mason City) Globe-Gazette reported Wednesday.

The driver, Eric Young, 39, of Charleston, S.C., and passenger Martin Brandon, 32, of Bridgeport, Conn., were treated for minor injuries.

The sheriff's department said crews spent about 3 hours cleaning the Jell-O and pudding from the road. Damage to the semi was estimated at $50,000.
