SANFORD, Fla., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- A Florida truck dealer is offering free AK-47 assault rifles to customers who purchase used trucks.
Nick Ginetta, general sales manager for Nations Trucks in Sanford, said the promotion began on Veterans Day and runs through the end of November, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported Monday.
Ginetta said customers taking advantage of the promotion are issued vouchers for a local gun store, and must undergo the same application process and set of qualifications as anyone attempting to purchase a gun. The manager said customers who decline the gun will instead receive $400 cash.
The dealership said the promotion has had a positive effect on sales, with 47 appointments scheduled for Friday, compared with the usual three.
Ginetta said the promotion may be extended until the close of the year.
