CONNELLSVILLE, Pa., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- A pair of Pennsylvania constables said they found success using a Steelers van to lure people out of their homes to be served warrants.
Constables Hubie Coleman and Albert "Rocky" Younkin said they have been having trouble getting people to exit their homes to receive arrest warrants, with some telling them they would not come out because their vehicle resembles a police cruiser, the Connellsville Daily Courier reported Thursday.
The constables said they talked the owners of County Motors in Connellsville into letting them borrow a for-sale Pittsburgh Steelers van for the day Wednesday and the vehicle proved efficient in luring curious people out of their homes.
"It's been working great," Coleman said. "We sit outside and lay on the horn, and they come out. They're interested and curious."
The men said they only had the Steelers van for one day and are now thinking of possible alternative vehicles to use for the same purpose.
