SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- A group of California teenagers surprised and entertained downtown San Clemente passersby with costumed antics.

The teenagers, who ran through the downtown and pier areas Sunday night in creature costumes, occasionally paused to sit, lie down in contorted positions, or hug light poles, The Orange County (Calif.) Register reported Monday. The youths only identified themselves once the stunt was over.

The seven teens, mostly freshmen and sophomores from San Juan Hills High School in San Juan Capistrano, said they were frequently asked whether they were aliens.

The students identified themselves as Brandon Sheldon, Grayson MacDonald, Noah Weissmann, Gwyn and Spencer Bateman, and Connor and Dylan Devaney.

They said their costumed cavorting was "just for fun."
