Advertisement Norma Welker of Shelby said she lost the ring while arranging flowers in her backyard garden eight years ago and this year she asked her grandson to till the soil so she could plant grass, the Great Falls Tribune reported. Grandson Nick Welker said he found the ring in the yard and went first to his parents, who confirmed it was Norma Welker's lost wedding ring. The family said they had the ring cleaned and presented it to Welker at her 80th birthday party. "I really couldn't believe it," Norma Welker said. "It just seemed like it was so impossible." Nick Welker said he previously reunited a lost wedding ring with its owner while he was a senior at Shelby High School in 2004 and found a teacher's lost ring in the parking lot. Advertisement World's shortest man: 26.4 inches POKHARA, Nepal, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- A Nepalese man entered the Guinness Book of World Records on his 18th birthday Thursday as the world's shortest man, standing at 26.4 inches. Marco Frigatti, vice president of records at Guinness World Records, said he flew to Pokhara, Nepal, and confirmed Khagendra Thapa Magar's status as the world's shortest man, CNN reported. "I am very happy with the recognition," father Rup Bahadur Thapa Magar told CNN. "For the last few days, Khagendra has been saying that he is a big man now." The previous record holder was Edward Nino Hernandez, 24, of Colombia, who stands at 27.4 inches. Nudity at big cat sanctuary a protest KINGSTON, Tenn., Oct. 15 (UPI) -- A pair of former workers at a Tennessee big cat sanctuary admitted being naked on the premises but denied running naked through the facility. Jake Loftis, 22, and Samuel Adams, 26, who lived at Tiger Haven in Kingston and worked as cat keepers, said they were drinking beer naked on their porch Sept. 16 as a protest against their recent firing, the Knoxville (Tenn.) News Sentinel reported. However, the pair denied a claim in a police report that they "ran nude around the complex exposing themselves to co-workers." Advertisement The men said only one co-worker spotted them while they were naked on the porch of the trailer they shared at the sanctuary. Adams admitted ripping a railing off the porch after he had been drinking. "I got drunk, and I got stupid, to be honest," Adams said. The men said they plan to plead guilty to indecent exposure and vandalism charges. 11 ponies stampede through town PALM COAST, Fla., Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said 11 Shetland ponies escaped from a corral and stampeded through the city of Palm Coast. Flagler County sheriff's deputies said they received a call at about 7 a.m. Wednesday about the ponies, which were being kept in a makeshift corral in advance of the Italian-American Club's fall festival, stampeding toward Fleetwood Drive, The (Jacksonville) Florida Times-Union reported. Deputies said they solicited help from the owner of the carnival and the ponies were recaptured within 20 minutes. "It was quite the humorous morning to say the least," sheriff's Sgt. John Bray said.
