Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe DETROIT, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- A Michigan man discovered the day after he had his ailing 11-year-old Rottweiler euthanized that the dog was up and on her feet. Matt Olivarez said he had put the animal, thinking her dead, on a pile of straw in the garage in Redford while he considered where to bury her, The Detroit News reported. He told the newspaper he felt like he had walked into a horror movie. Advertisement Olivarez's mother, Brenda Shead, said Mia was the only puppy in the litter to make it, so it is not surprising she is hard to kill. "She has a strong will," Shead said. "She doesn't give up." Olivarez said Westcott Veterinary Care Center in Detroit told him the drug used on Mia might have been diluted. Olivarez had decided on euthanasia because Mia has a damaged spine. He said he can no longer provide the care she needs. But he said he will not go through putting her down again. Instead, he hopes someone who can care for her properly will adopt her.
