DAUPHIN, Manitoba, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- A Canadian woman spent an entire day holed up in her house when three bears took up residence in her back yard, wildlife officials said.

The Manitoba woman, Connie Elcombe, woke up Thursday to find a mama black bear and her two cubs lounging in the branches of a tree in the yard, Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Friday.

Elcombe opted not to go outside, instead watching events play out from the safety of her windows all day.

About 8 p.m. the bears decided they'd had enough and slowly lumbered down the tree for further adventures.
