The officer said the man was eating a sandwich during the traffic stop and had sandwich-making supplies, including a loaf of bread and packages of cheese and salami, on the passenger seat.

The man, whose name was not released, told the officer he was a recovering marijuana and oxycodone addict and was driving around because he had fought with his mother. The man denied using any drugs that day, but admitted to consuming six to 10 vodka drinks during the day. There was a bottle of vodka with him in the car, police said.

The suspect's blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.05, under the 0.08 legal limit for driving, but the man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. A blood sample was sent to a crime lab to look for evidence of drug use.
