Sept. 15, 2010 at 1:01 PM

IMMOKALEE, Fla., Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said they arrested a gas station clerk who allegedly used a stick to beat a customer who wanted to use a $50 bill to pay for his beer.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office said Renu Zaman, 22, a clerk at the Sunoco Gas Station in Immokalee, became angry when a customer attempted to buy a six-pack of beer with a $50 bill, the Naples (Fla.) Daily News reported Wednesday.

"You Mexicans have too much money," Zaman allegedly yelled before pulling a wooden stick out from under the counter.

Zaman allegedly beat the other man bloody with the stick. Deputies said the incident was recorded on security cameras.

Deputies arrived and Zaman was arrested.
