HAYDENVILLE, Okla., Sept. 6 (UPI) -- A 100-year-old Oklahoma man who has been preaching since 1930 is still serving as reverend at the church he helped construct in 1940.

Rev. Otto Goins, who now lives at an assisted living center in Okmulgee said a neighbor drives him to the Haydenville Assembly of God in Haydenville to give his weekly Sunday sermons, The Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, reported Monday.

Goins, who turned 100 Wednesday, said he is proud to still be preaching at the church he helped build 70 years ago.

"The yellow pine (lumber) is still just as good as it was when we built it," he said.

The preacher attributed his long life to God and abstaining from drugs, tobacco and alcohol.

"I have never been sick. I don't take any medicine and I have rarely been to a doctor," he said.
