BLACKPOOL, England, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Charges against a British man who allegedly assaulted two women while playing strip Monopoly were dropped when the women declined to testify.
The Blackpool, England, court heard Gary Williamson, 22, was playing a stripping version of the popular board game with his girlfriend and another woman at his apartment. The women began to argue when the other woman appeared to be flirting with Williamson once all three were naked, The Daily Telegraph reported Friday.
Police were called and Williamson was arrested on assault charges stemming from allegations he head-butted one woman and pulled the other's hair.
Williamson's lawyer said his client was merely trying to keep the women apart to keep them from hurting one another.
District Judge Jeff Brailsford dropped the charges when neither woman showed up to testify against Williamson.
"It may well be that their decision not to attend is that they are both embarrassed by what happened," a prosecutor said.
