Man learns casino losses not deductible

SEPANG, Malaysia, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- A man caught at a Malaysian airport with 95 boa constrictors in his luggage pleaded guilty to exporting without a permit, court officials said.
Wong Keng Liang, 52,pleaded guilty Wednesday in Sepang Sessions Court, the Malaysian news agency Bernama reported Friday. The reptiles were exported in violation of the 2008 International Trade in Endangered Species Act.
The (Malaysia) Star said Wong was caught at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport Aug. 26 with the snakes in his luggage. He was en route to Jakarta, Indonesia, authorities said.
Wong's bail was set at $16,000 pending sentencing. He could face a fine of up to $32,000 and up to seven years in jail when he is sentenced Sept. 6.
