MELBOURNE, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- An Australian man photographed riding his motorcycle with a barbecue strapped to his body was fined $800 for careless driving.

Michael Wiles, 29, who pleaded guilty Wednesday in Melbourne Magistrates Court, said he was carrying the barbecue while riding on the freeway in January 2008 because he had found it at the side of the road and wanted to take it home, the Melbourne Herald-Sun reported.

Authorities said Wiles's vision was partially obscured by the steel grate of the barbecue.

Besides the fine, Wiles had his license revoked for one month.
