MADISON, Wis., Aug. 25 (UPI) -- A family visiting the Wisconsin State Capitol said a family photo revealed a man stealing one of their bags in the background.

John and Katharine Myers, of Bloomfield, N.J., said they were attending a wedding at the Capitol building in Madison during the weekend with children Charlie and Matilda when they noticed John's bag was missing, the Wisconsin State Journal reported Wednesday.

John Myers said he checked a family photo taken moments before and clearly saw the image of a man taking the bag.

The family said they showed the picture to police, who recognized the man as Glenn Lambright, 59, a frequent visitor to the building.

Lambright was found with the bag and police discovered Myers' wallet, cash and credit cards still inside. The suspect told police where he had thrown away other items from the bag.

Lambright, who claims he found the bag abandoned, has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor theft in Dane County Circuit Court.
