ANTHONY, Fla., Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said a man spotted driving his lawn mower in the street late at night was arrested on his fourth drunken driving offense.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office said someone reported a man driving his lawn mower in the road in Anthony shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday. Deputy Gary Miller arrived at the scene and allegedly found Richard Paschen driving a red Craftsman lawnmower east in a westbound lane without any lights, the Ocala (Fla.) Star-Banner reported Monday.
Miller said Paschen had a cup of beer and admitted he had "a pretty good bit" to drink.
Paschen failed a field sobriety test and refused to take a breath test at the Marion County Jail, deputies said. He was charged with driving under the influence.
Deputies said Paschen has three previous convictions for driving under the influence.
