Resident Howard Traudt says he is offering a one-night stay in his home for $1,000 -- about the same as a Fifth Avenue hotel suite, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The newspaper said the Beekman Arms, where wedding guests are staying, and other hotels in the town are completely booked, but many residents were trying to capitalize on the event by offering private rooms at high prices.
Though some Rhinebeck residents planned to leave town to avoid the hoopla this weekend, many have been welcoming, with storefronts displaying messages of congratulations and one local restaurant naming sandwiches after the Clinton family.
