KERRVILLE, Texas, July 29 (UPI) -- A Texas woman said archeologists working at the site of a Texas Revolution battle found the class ring she lost in 1974.

Judith Goode Fesler, of Kerrville, said she lost her 1973 Deer Park High School class ring at the Harris County site of the battle of San Jacinto in the summer of 1974, and the ring was returned to her Wednesday by park Superintendent Russell Kuykendall, the Houston Chronicle reported Thursday.

Roger Moore, an archeologist working at the battle site, said the ring was discovered near the park headquarters by volunteer Gary Wiggins. Wiggins reported the ring was found about 4 inches beneath the surface.

Park officials said they tracked down the initials on the ring, "JG" for Judith Goode, Fesler's maiden name, with the help of the school's alumni association.

"I'm going to wear this on a chain," Fesler said of the ring.
