VILLALAGO, Italy, July 14 (UPI) -- An Italian town is accusing residents of a nearby community of dumping a flock of geese in their village.

Residents of Villalago said their neighbors in the village of Scanno took a flock of geese from a town lake and brought the birds to a lake in Villalago, where they have been annoying residents with their calls and droppings, ANSA reported Wednesday.

Villalago Mayor Cesidio Grosso sent a letter to Scanno Mayor Patrizio Giammarco asking him to retrieve "his" geese, but he said he has yet to hear back from the other official.

Grosso said he is considering an ordinance stating the geese do not belong in his village.
